The Cottage Yorkstone design from our Colonia range perfectly replicates the look of natural granite for bringing a touch of rustic charm to your home. This classic design has a pitted surface texture for extra authenticity.
We think this design works particularly well in kitchens, like the example above where it has been installed in brickwork pattern using the Classic Oak Marquetry strip for added definition.
We love the mixture of retro and modern touches which give this traditional country kitchen a unique, quirky edge. Here’s some accessories we found which can help you achieve a similar look in your own home…
Pull up a pew
A bench is a more relaxed alternative to traditional dining chairs which will give your space that classic country kitchen feel.
Take a basic bench like this Norden design from Ikea (£50), either leave as it is with its natural wood finish or give it a DIY makeover by painting it a pretty pastel shade.
If you don’t fancy picking up the paintbrushes then take a look at the Daisy chair from Very.co.uk (£39). We love the fresh, apple green shade of this spindle backed chair.
Protect your dining table and add a burst of colour to your kitchen with a red polka dot tablecloth. We’ve found this Polka Dot Red Oilcloth Tablecloth (priced from £13.99) from a site called Wipe Easy Tablecloths who make them to order in a variety of colours, patterns, shapes and lengths.
Cath Kidston, the queen of vintage inspired patterned fabrics, also sells oilcloth fabric starting from £20 per metre if you fancy making your own tablecloth.
Mix it up
Retro inspired kitchenware in pastel shades are incredibly popular right now and this Mason Cash Bake My Day Mixing Bowl (£18.99 from Silver Mushroom) is a beauty.
This sturdy mixing bowl has a pastel blue glaze and is embossed with the slogan “all good things come to those who bake”. Even if you don’t have the skills to star on the Great British Bake Off then you can at least look like you do!
It’s the little touches that make a home truly individual and these fun and functional accessories add extra personality to this kitchen. Stick these brightly coloured Ikea Losjön hangers (£4.75 for a pack of five) to the wall for decorative way to hang your tea towels .
I’m not sure that Queen Elizabeth would be too pleased to find her face on a tea towel but we love this £50 note design (£6.99 from The Present Finder) that makes washing up a little less boring.
